Well I hope everyone had a good weekend. The weather was a little crazy for me. Could not make up it's mind if it was going to be Hot (normal for FL) or cold ( which I prefer), Of course it is totally odd to my friends as I was born in Cali and raised in Fl. But hey you spend 6 years in Chicago and discover this amazing thing called seasons and see how it feel to be stuck in endless summer after that. Oh the good old days of Chitown here it would still be called late night right now and not early morning. Give the time of year I am sure it is a brisk 30 degrees or so, maybe even some fresh snow on the ground. Oh how I miss that city if you can't tell. So time go back soon. Great thing about working from home is never had to worry about asking for the time off for things like that, LOL! And of course have not slept all night I can not have the dread of going into the office on no sleep but instead adjust my schedule and get some sleep in. (Big plus as I am total night owl). So other than Bi-polar weather my weekend was filled with some great things. I just bought and finished reading a new book. The title is "The Warmth of other suns". AMAZING Book. It is in a uquine way a history book. It i a book that took me though some deep emotions, connecting me to people I would have be honored to meet, even if they were not honored in their time. It also gave me a new respect for things that we have now in American that without people like who are this book we would never have had. Ok never is harsh word, so let me rephrase into it would have been a long time in coming. I am very aware of the many social based issues we have in our society today. For 1. Radical, well my daughter is half black and half white.(and trust me when I tell you the southern side of the family aint to happy about that) 2. Homeless, For a period of time that I spend in Chicago I was homeless. I will talk more about it in other blogs but I was blessed enough to find Deborah's Place. (http://www.deborahsplace.org/) If ever need a worthy cause this place is one. It is all about empowering homeless women in the Chicago Area and helping them recover from the cycle of homeless. 3. I have dealt Bi-polar disorder my whole life, have received the the news when I was only 7 years old. Yet even with all that and more this simple book made me go Thank You! I cried at times reading it, just like any person would as they got to knew this people and this writer is so gifted that you walk away feeling that you knew them. People like them renew my believe in things, reminded me of while I deal with so may taboo in my own life. this people have made it Ok to talk about them and even air in public instead of trying to hide in shame. It is a book that I would tell any America to pick up and read. I would tell any person to pick up and read. But I will ware you, it is a book that will take you on an emotional journey so be prepared for it. Well I need to try to get some sleep before the sun comes up on me. And after sharing so much I feel drained but in a great way.So good night cyber world. And always feel free to share your thoughts with me.
Pay it forward.
This about 3 years old now but that is my future Dr or whatever lol
